Rack focus is a great technique where the focus shifts from foreground to background (or vice versa) from one subject to another. You'll recognize it right away as it is one of the most common focus techniques used in professional video and film. Getting a rack focus right can be tough without the proper equipment. Just racking it by eye can be tough and lead you to have to do many takes -- or miss it completely if your making documentary work.

The follow focus works just like others by setting your two focal points and then using the gear mechanism to rack between the two set points. Usually this kind of equipment can be very expensive, but now you can get it for just $15.
The follow focus uses a 15mm rod clamp that is compatible with any rig, and the kit comes with a resizable ring so that it can work with almost any lens.
