Today's video is a story from the people over at Great Big Story about a bank in Italy that accepts cheese as a form of collateral for a loan.

If you have been following the video of the day here on TheVJ.com . you'll notice this isn't our first video featured from Great Big Story. We really like their stuff! It is well produced and shot cleanly, but most importantly they consitently get great stories (no pun inteded) and tell them great as well.  Each shot and line of narration sets up a question in the viewer's head that drives the story. You can learn just how they do this in our Storytelling Courses.

Character-driven journalism is not new to newspapers, though it once was. It was once called The New Journalism in the 1960s — see Truman Capote or Tom Wolfe. Today it is industry standard. How many Man on the Street soundbites have you seen in Breaking Bad?)

There is a great deal of concern, well placed, that few people under the age of 30 watch TV news. Viewership of TV news in general has fallen off, so naturally, TV executives across the boards are searching for a solution. How to appeal to a demographic that spends most of their time on social media?
