When it comes to lighting your video, it should look the way your eye sees it.  Most of the time, that means you can rely on natural or available light, but sometimes, whether you're on location or in a studio, you may have to use lights. Traditionally that meant that you would need to use a big three-point soft-box kit. These lights are heavy, run hot, need constant power, and can be used incorrectly very easily. LED lights however are much more forgiving, and for professional quality on the go, the ICE light is our pick.

The ICE Light is an LED ligh that is great for mobile use as it is lightweight. Additionally, it is very powerful. With just one of these lights you can get professional looking lighting. Just one of these, and you'll be all set.

Character-driven journalism is not new to newspapers, though it once was. It was once called The New Journalism in the 1960s — see Truman Capote or Tom Wolfe. Today it is industry standard. Why not take the Sopranos or Breaking Bad formula and marry it to TV journalism? (How many interviews have you seen in The Sopranos? In a recent study by The Reuters Institute, 40% of Americans no longer watch or read the news at all. They find it too depressing. All doom and gloom.

There is a great deal of concern, well placed, that few people under the age of 30 watch TV news. Viewership of TV news in general has fallen off, so naturally, TV executives across the boards are searching for a solution. How to appeal to a demographic that spends most of their time on social media?
